EL PASO, Texas – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's golf closed out the LSC – RMAC Shootout with a top-5 finish as the Mountain Lions finished with a score of 872 (eight-over par) for fourth place in the tournament.

Tanner Comes (Spokane, Wash.) was the top finisher for the Mountain Lions on Tuesday as Comes entered the day at one-under and finished there as he shot back-to-back 72's to total a 215 and tied for 12th in the tournament.
Freshman Brady Haake (Gilbert, Ariz.) joined Spillum in the top-20 as he ended his collegiate debut at even to solidify a tied for 14th finish. Haake shot 74 on the day to card a 216 in three rounds of play.
Ignacio de La Vega (Toluca, Mexico) just missed out on the top-20 with a tied for 23rd finish as the senior posted four birdies in the final round to record a score of 219 (three-over).
Isaac Spillum (Scottsdale, Ariz.) improved six strokes from Monday's second round as he shot one-over (73) to put him at 224 (eight-over) in the first tournament of the season. Redshirt sophomore Barrett Jones (Eagle, Colo.) also improved in the tournament's final round as Jones carded a 73 to shave eight strokes off Monday's second round to finish at 227.
Individuals Travis Bossio (Olympia, Wash.) and
Lucas Howell (Colorado Springs, Colo.) each recorded their first tournament as a Mountain Lion with Bossio claiming a tied for 23
rd finish. Bossio shot 219 (three-over) with an eagle on par five No. 2 as Howell wrapped up the LSC -RMAC Shootout with a 235.
TOURNAMENT LEADERS
Host institution Western New Mexico University won the 12-team tournament with an 855 (nine-under par).
Midwestern State University's Garrett Leek bested the competition of 70 golfers with a 13-under par 203.

The Mountain Lions will be back in action Monday, Oct. 26 as they travel to Amarillo, Texas for the Ryan Palmer Foundation Invitational, hosted by West Texas A&M University.
