Tanner Comes and
Isaac Spillum have been named 2019-20 Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars, announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).
A total of 1,018 players earned the award across Division I, II, III, the NAIA and the NJCAA. To be eligible for Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar status, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior academically in Division I, II, III, and NAIA, or receiving their Associate's Degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA. In addition, they must have a stroke-average under 76.0 in Division I, 78.0 in Division II, 78.0 in NAIA and 79.0 in Division III, 77.0 in NJCAA, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. For 2019-20 only, they must participate in 40% of the team's competitive rounds
A four-year member of the UCCS men's golf team, senior
Tanner Comes (Spokane, Wash.) was named an All-American in 2018 and earned 2017-18 and 2016-17 All-RMAC First Team accolades. During the 2019-20 season, Comes played in five tournaments, averaging 73.7 strokes per round. His best finish of the season was third place at the Concordia Invite on Oct. 7-8, 2019, where he carded a 211 (74, 69, 68). A 2019-20 RMAC All-Academic First Team selection, Comes is a Marketing major with a 3.55 GPA.
A Mechanical Engineering major with a 3.653 GPA, junior
Isaac Spillum (Scottsdale, Ariz.) This past fall, Spillum competed in four tournaments and registered his best stroke average in a season (76.2). In the second tournament of the season, he shot a 68, besting his previous mark by two strokes. He has earned RMAC All-Academic Honorable Mention honors the past two years.
