IRVING, Texas – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's golf team opened the Dallas Baptist University Patriot Classic Monday with back-to-back rounds of 298. The Mountain Lions are tied with Central Missouri for second place out of 17 teams at the Hackberry Creek Country Club (Par 72, 6,841 Yards) in Irving, Texas.
Dixie State University is currently the team leader, holding a two-stroke lead over UCCS.

Ignacio de La Vega each knocked in a 148 on Monday and are tied for 10
th place overall to lead the Mountain Lions. de La Vega recorded four birdies in each round and is tied for second overall in the field with eight birdies.
Jack Duguid bounced back from a 76 in the opening round to tally a 73 in round two, including an eagle on hole No. 12 in the second round. Duguid's 149 is tied for 18
th place overall.
Peter Johns is tied for second in Par 4 scoring (4.80 average). Despite recording two eagles on holes No. 10 and No. 18, Johns is tied for 23
rd overall after posting a 151 (76, 75) to wrap up the Mountain Lions scorers after day one.
As a team, the Mountain Lions lead the tournament in par 4 scoring (4.25 average) and Eagles (three).
Round three will begin Tuesday morning at 7:30 a.m. (MDT).
