Men’s Golf in 11th Place after Day One of Otter Invite

SEASIDE, Calif. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's golf team recorded a two-round score of 599 on the first day of the Otter Invitational, hosted by California State University-Monterey Bay at Bayonet-Bayonet & Black Horse Golf Course (par 72, 6,848 yards) in Seaside, Calif.  UCCS opened the tournament shooting a 290, but piled on 19 strokes in round two and are currently in 11th place.
 
Jack Duguid leads the Mountain Lions and is tied for 25th place overall.  Duguid shot a 72 in the first round and closed the second round with a 75 (147).  Clay McCrory is one stroke behind with a 148 (72, 76) and is tied for 35th place.  Ignacio de La Vega also started the tournament with an even par 72, but tallied a 78 in round two and is tied for 42nd place (150).  Peter Johns closes out the Mountain Lions scorers with a 66th place 155 (74, 81).
 
Barry University leads all 17 teams with a four-under par 572.  Carlos Bustos currently leads all 92 golfers after notching a seven-under par 137 (68, 69).
 
The third and final round will begin Tuesday morning at 7 a.m. (MT).
