SEASIDE, Calif. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's golf team recorded a two-round score of 599 on the first day of the Otter Invitational, hosted by California State University-Monterey Bay at Bayonet-Bayonet & Black Horse Golf Course (par 72, 6,848 yards) in Seaside, Calif. UCCS opened the tournament shooting a 290, but piled on 19 strokes in round two and are currently in 11
th place.
Jack Duguid leads the Mountain Lions and is tied for 25
th place overall. Duguid shot a 72 in the first round and closed the second round with a 75 (147).
Clay McCrory is one stroke behind with a 148 (72, 76) and is tied for 35
th place.
Ignacio de La Vega also started the tournament with an even par 72, but tallied a 78 in round two and is tied for 42
nd place (150).
Peter Johns closes out the Mountain Lions scorers with a 66
th place 155 (74, 81).
Barry University leads all 17 teams with a four-under par 572. Carlos Bustos currently leads all 92 golfers after notching a seven-under par 137 (68, 69).
The third and final round will begin Tuesday morning at 7 a.m. (MT).
