CANYON, Texas – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's track & field team competed at two meets of the weekend as the sprinters and field events were at the West Texas A&M Classic & Multi while the distance runner ran at the Colorado Invite.
At the West Texas A&M Classic,
Andi Harrelson posted the top throw in the javelin while competing in the heptathlon, recording a conference-best 40.48m, which was also a provisional qualifying distance.
In the high jump,
Morgan Barone and
Veronica Burney each cleared 1.61m as the duo each tied for third place in the event.
At the Colorado Invitational,
Kayla Wooten ran 1,500m with a time of 4:38.01, taking fourth place and was the top Division II finisher in the event. Her altitude adjusted time of 4:31.38 is a provisional qualifying time as she currently ranks 14
th in the nation.
The team is off until next Thursday when they travel west to compete in the Mt. Sac Relays and Bryan Clay Invitational in southern California.
