LONG BEACH, Calif. – Running his second 800m in as many days, sophomore William Mayhew earned an NCAA Division II provisional qualifying time at the Long Beach Invitational on Saturday.

Mayhew crossed the finish line with a time of 1:51.88, which is slightly under the provisional qualifying time of 1:52.33. The transfer placed 16^th overall in a predominantly Division I field.

In his second race of the weekend, Mayhew improved after running a 1:52.66 on Friday at the Mt. SAC Relays.

Mayew and the rest of the Mountain Lions are back in action Saturday, April 22 at Colorado Mines' Nature's Bakery Invitational.
