BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Freshman
Kayla Wooten finished the indoor track & field season as a first team All-American with a sixth place finish in the women's mile at the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships at the Birmingham Sport CrossPlex Complex on Saturday.
Wooten cross the finish line with a new personal-best time of 4:47.12, which was an improvement on her previous best of 4:49.99, which she ran in the prelims on Thursday.
The freshman was the third fastest runner from the RMAC as Western State's Alicja Konieczek won the race (4:37.42) as Adams State's Roisin Flanagan took fifth place (4:45.19).
Wooten and the rest of the track & field team opens their outdoor season at the Colorado College Invitational on Saturday, March 25.
