SPEARFISH, S.D. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's indoor track & field team opened the RMAC Championships with a stellar performance by the distance medley relay team.
The team of
Makenzie Urban,
Chelsea Martus,
Molly Klotz, and
Kayla Wooten posted an NCAA Division II provisional time of 11:59.63, earning six points with a third place finish.
In the 5,000m race, Aubrey Templeton also posted a provisional qualifying time of 18:00.89 as she picked up five points for the Mountain Lions with a fourth place finish.
In the field events,
Josie Eder placed sixth after clearing 3.24m as
Kelly Chamberlain took eighth place with a height of 3.09m.
In the pentathlon,
Andi Harrelson placed seventh overall with 2,885 points.
Danielle Cormier advanced to the final of the 60m hurdles after finishing tied for sixth with time of 8.96 seconds.
After the first day, UCCS sits in fifth place with a total of 17 points. Day two starts Saturday morning at 8:30 a.m.
