GOLDEN, Colo. – University of Colorado Colorado Springs sophomore
Molly Klotz continued to improve her time in the 400-meter hurdles with 1 minute, 0.95 seconds to win the event at the Colorado Mines Last Chance today. Her altitude-adjusted time of 1:01.06 unofficially moved her up to No. 21 in the NCAA Division II performance lists in the final qualifying weekend.
Klotz improved her qualifying time by five-hundredths of a second with today's race. She is .14 seconds behind the No. 20 hurdler in Division II, which represents the number of hurdlers accepted for the national championships in 2015.
Chantelle Fondren improved her qualifying time by a quarter-second in the 1,500-meter run to a converted 4:32.23 off of a raw time of 4:39.73. She unofficially improved to No. 35 in the national performance lists with today's run and won by nearly five seconds.
Chelsea Martus finished the 800-meter run in 2:16.24 for a converted time of 2:15.25.
UCCS will compete again at Mines in the final Last Chance Meet of the season on Sunday afternoon. Start and entry lists will be released by Colorado Mines later this weekend.
