GOLDEN, Colo. – University of Colorado Colorado Springs freshman
David Kimaiyo ran a qualifying time in the 1,500-meter run for the first time this season and
Kyle McCloskey improved on his qualifying time in the same event as the Mountain Lions competed in the Colorado Mines Last Chance Meet at Stermole Track.
Kimaiyo ran 3 minutes, 55 seconds, tonight, and his altitude-adjusted time of 3:48.70 is unofficially No. 23 in the NCAA Division II performance lists. It's an improvement of more than 3.5 seconds off of his previous season-best at the Colorado Invitational April 9. McCloskey lowered his qualifying time by nearly one second to an adjusted 3:49.19 off of his raw time of 3:55.50. He unofficially improved to No. 33 in the nation.
Willie Moore finished the 800-meter run in 2:00.76, and he improved his adjusted time by more than six seconds with 1:59.88.
UCCS will compete again at Mines in the final Last Chance Meet of the season on Sunday afternoon. Start and entry lists will be released by Colorado Mines later this weekend.
