CHADRON, Neb. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's distance medley relay team finished within a second of the champion in a runner-up finish on the first day of the 2016 RMAC Indoor Track and Field Championships at Chadron State's Nelson Physical Activity Center. The Mountain Lions ran 11 minutes, 58.66 seconds and scored eight team points.

Chantelle Fondren ran the relay and finished .73 seconds behind Adams State in a close race for the conference championship. The Mountain Lions had the sixth-fastest time in Division II coming into the championships.
Abby Topper finished No. 10 in her heat and No. 22 overall with 19:49.21 in the 5,000-meter run this afternoon.
