GOLDEN, Colo. – University of Colorado Colorado Springs freshman
Alicia Lawrence won the 200-meter dash and finished second in the 100-meter dash to lead the Mountain Lions at the Colorado School of Mines Pre-Conference Meet at the Stermole Complex.
Lawrence ran 25.24 seconds and won by nearly a full second against the nearest sprinter. She ran 12.66 seconds in the 100-meter dash as the runner-up and was just more than a quarter-second behind the winner. Teammate Tacey Divittorio finished fourth in the 100-meter dash with 13.12 seconds and sixth in the 200-meter dash with 27.22 seconds.
Makenna Maston placed eighth in the 1,500-meter run with 5:25.22, which will adjust to a sea level time of 5:16.50. She was third among freshmen in the race.
UCCS will compete at the RMAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships May 1-3 at the Neta and Eddie DeRose ThunderBowl at Colorado State-Pueblo.
