GOLDEN, Colo. – Sam Bauer and Sarah Treese opened the Kit Mayer Memorial Open for the University of Colorado Colorado Springs with the 3,000-meter steeplechase tonight at the Stermole Track and Field Complex. Bauer finished eighth to lead the pair with 11 minutes, 56.04 seconds.

Bauer's time is her fastest unadjusted time of her career and her third under the 12-minute mark. It will convert to a sea level time of 11:34.13 for the sixth-fastest unofficial time in the RMAC performance lists. Treese placed one spot behind Bauer with a raw time of 12:02.74 for an adjusted time of 11:40.63.

UCCS will continue action at Colorado School of Mines on Saturday.
