FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs track & field team had a trio of women's mid-distance runners competing at the Doug Max Invitational on Saturday among a field consisting primarily of NCAA Division I athletes.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Redshirt sophomore Madison Brosig led the Mountain Lions in the women's 1500m as she clocked a season-best converted time of 4:32.40 for a 13th place finish in the 34-person field. Junior Emma Montoya crossed the finish line in 20th place, clocking a converted time of 4:42.37.
- In the women's 800m, redshirt sophomore Olivia Sargent circled the track twice in a converted time of 2:14.97, finishing 13th overall in a stacked field of 22 runners.
UP NEXT
- The Mountain Lions will compete at a trio of last chance meets next weekend, including the APU Franson Last Chance on May 7-9, the Air Force Twilight on May 8, and the Loper Twilight on May 9. The NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships are set to take place on May 21-23 at Francis G. Welch Stadium in Emporia, Kan.
