PUEBLO, Colo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs baseball team falls in the final regular season game to the Colorado State University Pueblo ThunderWolves, 17-5.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- UCCS would get the scoring started in the top of the first inning, with Quinn Medin setting the tone with a lead off single to right, keeping the pressure on as he immediately stole second. Matthew Shipley would fly out to center to move Medin up, with Bryce Peterson coming through with a one out single to score the run from third.
- UCCS doubled their lead in the top of the second, with Brendan Killeen reaching on a throwing error by the third basemen, coming home to score on the next at-bat when Tyler Genrich doubled to left.
- CSU Pueblo answered back in the bottom of the second, as they capitalized on a UCCS error and loaded the bases with two outs. Jeremiah Sanchez then came through with a triple, putting Pueblo in front 3-2 on the 3 RBI extra base hit.
- UCCS got back to even in the top of the third inning, with Bryce Peterson getting the inning started on a one out hit to left, then stealing second. James Harbison and Trevor Dale both followed with walks to load the bases with one out, as Brendan Killeen provided the sacrifice fly to bring Peterson home and tie the game at three. Tyler Genrich would fly out to strand two, though UCCS was able to get back to even.
- The ThunderWolves took advantage of an UCCS error, and a pair of walks in the bottom of the fifth, to reclaim the lead. With the bases loaded and one out, the fourth walk of the frame forced in the go ahead run to make it 4-3 CSU Pueblo, with Logan Kelly coming through with a single to score another pair, as the hosts doubled up UCCS 6-3 after five innings.
- The Mountain Lions got two runs back in the top of the sixth, getting started with Tyler Buchman's one out walk. Quinn Medin extended the inning with a two out double after Nolan Oliver popped out, as Matthew Shipley came to the plate with runners on second and third with two gone. Shipley came through with a single to right, scoring both and putting UCCS just one back 6-5 heading to the bottom of the sixth.
- The wheels came off in the seventh and eighth innings for UCCS, as the bats came alive for CSU Pueblo in the final two frames. The ThunderWolves would score seven runs on five hits in the seventh, adding four runs on four hits in the eighth and securing their second walk-off win of the series, and ending the regular season on a high, 17-5 over UCCS.
GAME STATISTICS
- Jacob Brown had a stellar start on the mound for UCCS, he was tagged for three runs, though none were earned as he struck out two.
- Walks haunted UCCS in the contest, allowing seven free passes to CSU Pueblo on the afternoon.
- Christian Klehr (2-1) suffers his first loss of the year, Dominic Corgiat (2-0) secures the win for the ThunderWolves.

- UCCS finishes with program bests in Wins (32), Conference Wins (21), Runs (522), RBIs (470), Total Bases (1060), Home Runs (104), Hits (606), and Average (.353).
- The Mountain Lions secure the third seed in the RMAC tournament, matching their highest regular season finish, having finished third twice before in 2018 and 2021.

- The Mountain Lions will take on CSU Pueblo on Wednesday in the first round of the 2026 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Baseball Championships in Grand Junction. Game times for the tournament will be announced at the conclusion of today's games by the conference office.
