Men’s Track & Field Rises to No. 23 in Week 7 USTFCCCA National TFRI

NEW ORLEANS, La. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's track & field team rose one spot in the Week 7 United States Track & Field & Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Outdoor Track & Field Rating Index, landing at No. 23 with 87.26 TFRI points.
 
Grand Valley State University moved up one spot to claim the No. 1 national ranking this week with 452.46 TFRI points, while last week's No. 1 team Pittsburg State University fell to No. 2 with 437.95 TFRI points. Along with the Mountain Lions at No. 23, three additional institutions from the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) were ranked inside the top 25 of the men's TFRI, including No. 8 Colorado School of Mines (219.08), No. 12 Adams State University (149.22), and No. 17 Colorado State University Pueblo (109.45)
 
At the conclusion of the outdoor qualifying season, the Mountain Lion men's squad has recorded a total of 16 NCAA provisional qualifying marks.

Sebastien Jean, Andrew Muncy, Hayden Fox, Joshua Gross: 4x100m Relay - 3:11.25* (27th NCAA DII)
Josiah Billington: Long Jump - 7.64m (5th NCAA DII)
KJ McInnis: Long Jump - 7.41m (T34th NCAA DII)
KJ McInnis: Triple Jump - 15.24m (T15th NCAA DII)
Realiti Smith: Triple Jump - 14.78m (T51st NCAA DII)
Kyle Demos: Discus Throw - 51.59m (38th NCAA DII)
Michael Roberts: Hammer Throw - 63.59m (12th NCAA DII)
Hayden Cuevas: Hammer Throw - 58.78m (39th NCAA DII)
Evan Atkin: Decathlon - 6,863 (11th NCAA DII)
Broden Cahoon: Decathlon - 6,781 (20th NCAA DII)
Dillon Arvayo: Decathlon – 6,538 (34th NCAA DII)

In the seventh edition of the USTFCCCA South Central Regional Rankings, the UCCS men's squad checked in at No. 2 with 681.09 TFRI points, coming in just behind Colorado School of Mines at No. 1 with 785.11 TFRI points.
