COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs track & field team swept the Week 4 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) Field Athlete of the Week honors with redshirt sophomore Josiah Billington and junior Maylee Thompson earning the awards following their impressive performances at the Jo Meaker Classic & Multi last week.

For the second time in the last three weeks, Billington collects RMAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week accolades following a monster performance in the long jump at the Jo Meaker Classic & Multi. After he opened the meet on Thursday with a season-best mark of 14.31m in the triple jump, Billington put forth a massive personal best effort in the men's long jump on Friday as he leapt to a wind-aided NCAA provisional qualifying mark of 7.67m for a third place finish out of 15 competitors in the event. Out of a total of six jumps in the competition, Billington surpassed 7.60m on four of them while his best wind-legal jump of the afternoon came in at 7.64m, a mark that easily exceeded the provisional qualifying standard and currently ranks first in the RMAC and fourth overall in NCAA Division II. His wind-aided mark of 7.67m moved him to No. 3 all-time in UCCS men's outdoor program history for the long jump.

Thompson secures RMAC Women's Field Athlete of the Week honors for the first time in her career at UCCS after putting together a huge weekend of competition at the Jo Meaker Classic & Multi on April 9-10 in which she notched NCAA provisional qualifying efforts in both the heptathlon and long jump. Thompson opened her first heptathlon of the outdoor season on Thursday and recorded personal best marks in each of the first four events, posting a time of 15.69s in the 100m hurdles, a clearance of 1.48m in the high jump, a toss of 9.60m in the shot put, and a time of 25.53s in the 200m dash. The first-year Mountain Lion surged to an incredible finish on Friday as she kicked off day two with a huge personal best and NCAA provisional qualifying leap of 6.02m in the long jump and rounded out the afternoon with PRs in the final two events, hitting a mark of 37.60m in the javelin throw and a time of 2:31.60 in the 800m run. With personal best marks in each of the seven events, the native of Cochise, Ariz., finished the heptathlon in third place out of 12 competitors with a personal best and NCAA provisional qualifying score of 4,844 points. Thompson currently ranks first in the RMAC and tied for 10th in NCAA Division II for the women's long jump while sitting first in the RMAC and tied for 21st in NCAA Division II for the heptathlon. In addition, Thompson now ranks inside the top five in UCCS women's outdoor program history for both events as she moved to No. 2 all-time in the heptathlon and No. 3 all-time in the long jump.

The Mountain Lions will be idle this weekend before heading to Pueblo, Colo. on April 24-26 for the 2026 RMAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
