ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs track & field team had another busy day competing at three different meets on Saturday and went on to break three school records while adding six more NCAA provisional qualifying marks.

HOW IT HAPPENED | NEW MEXICO TEAM OPEN
- For the second time in three weeks, senior Sebastien Jean established a new indoor school record in the men's 400m as he clocked a personal best raw time of 47.11s to finish third overall out of 12 competitors in the invite section of the event. Jean's converted mark of 47.22s also registered as an improvement over his previous season-best NCAA provisional qualifying mark of 47.34c, which entered the weekend ranked sixth in all of NCAA Division II.
- The Mountain Lions recorded a school record and NCAA provisional qualifying performances in both the men's and women's 4x400m relays to close out the meet. On the men's side, freshman Revan Plummer, freshman Joshua Gross, freshman Hayden Fox, and redshirt junior Andrew Muncy carried the baton to the tune of a raw time of 3:12.37 (3:12.81c) that placed them seventh overall out of 22 teams. In the women's 4x400m relay race, the junior quartet of Krissie Sanders, Zane Bullock, Danaya Kinnard, and Lilyana Delagarza teamed up to post a blistering raw time of 3:50.06 (3:50.50c) which was good for ninth place out of 23 teams in the competition.
- Prior to her strong showing in the 4x400m relay, Sanders put forth an impressive performance in the preliminary round of the women's 60m hurdles as she qualified for the event final with the eighth-fastest time in the field of 43 hurdlers, clocking an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 8.69s. Later in the day, Sanders improved her position in the final event standings with a sixth-place finish in the final race at another provisional qualifying converted time of 8.76s.
- The Mountain Lions had a strong stable of throwers competing in the women's shot put competition as four student-athletes finished inside the top half of the 30-person field. Senior Savannah Jorgens was the top finisher from UCCS as she posted a personal best NCAA provisional qualifying toss of 13.74m for a sixth place finish, while redshirt junior Bailey Young took eighth place with a mark of 13.09m, redshirt junior Grace Solarin claimed 12th place with a mark of 12.42m, and sophomore Jaedyn Kohn secured 13th place with a mark of 12.23m.
- UCCS had a pair of student-athletes finish inside the top 10 of a 33-person field in the men's shot put with senior Kyle Demos finishing fourth overall with a toss of 16.27m and freshman Cam Bruns taking seventh overall with a throw of 15.03m.
- Junior Emma Montoya surpassed her previous personal best in the women's mile by more than five seconds as she placed seventh overall out of 47 runners in the event with a converted time of 4:54.67. She was followed closely across the finish line by redshirt sophomore Madison Brosig in ninth place with a personal best converted time of 4:58.11 and redshirt senior Molly Breuer in 10th place with a personal best converted time of 5:00.02.
- UCCS saw a pair of personal best performances in the men's mile with redshirt junior Enzo Knapp finishing fifth overall out of 25 competitors in the event with a converted time of 4:08.28 and redshirt sophomore Jonas Graff taking seventh place in a converted time of 4:12.18.
- Sophomore Jacob Silvis was the top finisher for the Mountain Lions in the men's 800m as he clocked a converted time of 1:55.36 for an 18th place finish in the 39-person field. Redshirt senior Joseph Hamilton was the 22nd overall finisher with a converted time of 1:55.70, while redshirt freshman Jacob Kinne took 27th place in a converted time of 1:56.81.
- In the women's 800m, sophomore Cienna Dietz posted a converted time of 2:19.09 to secure 18th place out of 34 competitors in the event. Breuer and Brosig returned to the track after running the mile earlier in the day with Breuer finishing directly behind Dietz in 19th place at a converted time of 2:20.68 and Brosig taking 22nd place in a converted time of 2:24.08.
HOW IT HAPPENED | MINES WINTER CLASSIC
- The Mountain Lions saw a pair of student-athletes advance through the preliminary round of the men's 60m dash as freshman Noah Brown clocked the second-fastest time in the field at 6.86c and freshman Julian Brantley notched the third-fastest qualifying time at 6.91c. In the event final, Brown maintained his position in second place with an improved time of 6.83c, while Brantley slipped to fourth overall with a time of 6.92c.
- Each of the four Mountain Lions racing in the preliminary round of the women's 60m dash advanced to the event final with junior Taryn Fettig posting the third-fastest time in the field at 7.78c followed by freshman Emili Voelker in fourth at 7.80c, freshman Leiava Holliman in fifth at 7.82c, and freshman Olivia Clay in eighth at 7.95c. The final race saw Voelker hold her position in fourth place with a time of 7.80c while Holliman took fifth place at 7.82c, Fettig took sixth place at 7.86c, and Clay secured eighth place at 7.94c.
- Freshman Xavier Sutherlin led the Mountain Lions in the men's 60m hurdles as he raced to a time of 8.51c in the preliminary round before improving to a personal best time of 8.39c in the event final for a fifth-place finish. Junior Spencer Shuler also qualified for the event final with a personal best time of 8.55c in the preliminary round as he went on to claim eighth place overall with a mark of 8.60c in the final.
HOW IT HAPPENED | JOHN THOMAS TERRIER CLASSIC
- Junior Brett Davis put forth a personal best performance in the men's 5,000m on Saturday evening as he posted an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 14:06.34 to finish second in his heat and 25th overall in the field of 90 runners.
BEYOND THE RESULTS
- The Mountain Lions posted updates to the top five list in the indoor record book for six different events on Saturday, including the men's 400m, men's mile, men's 5,000m, men's and women's 4x400m relay, and women's shot put.
