Albuquerque, N.M. – Competing at a trio of meets across the country on Friday, the University of Colorado Colorado Springs track & field team posted a total of seven NCAA provisional qualifying marks, including four that registered as new or improved marks for the 2025-26 indoor season.

HOW IT HAPPENED | MINES WINTER CLASSIC
- Senior Brooke Peterson vaulted to a first place finish out of 11 competitors in the women's pole vault as she cleared a season-best NCAA provisional qualifying bar height of 3.77m. Freshmen vaulters Sienna Boughen and Reese Dorr added personal best performances in the event with Boughen tying for fourth place at a mark of 3.47m and Dorr taking seventh place at a clearance of 3.32m.
- The Mountain Lions had nine student-athletes competing in the women's long jump competition and saw four of them place inside the top 10 of the 24-person field, led by redshirt senior Madissyn Moore in second place with an NCAA provisional qualifying leap of 5.76m. Junior Brielle Bracken placed fifth overall in the event with a season-best mark of 5.51m, while sophomore Payton Rodgers and freshman Tristyn Buss filled the sixth and seventh positions in the standings, respectively, with identical marks of 5.49m.
- UCCS had a similarly large group of eight student-athletes participating in the men's long jump with four of them making their way into the top 10 finishers among the 24-person field. Redshirt sophomore Josiah Billington was the top finisher for the Mountain Lions as he claimed third place with a leap of 6.98m, while freshman Jayden Nohr (6.93m) and senior Broden Cahoon (6.91m) secured fourth and fifth place, respectively. Freshman Kuron Reed rounded out the top finishers for UCCS as he took seventh place with a leap of 6.88m.
HOW IT HAPPENED | NEW MEXICO TEAM OPEN
- Senior Michael Roberts continued his upward trajectory in the men's weight throw on Friday evening as he unleashed a personal best NCAA provisional qualifying mark of 19.91m on his final toss of the day to secure a first-place finish in the field of 26 throwers. Junior Hayden Cuevas also surpassed the provisional qualifying threshold in the event, finishing fourth overall with a toss of 18.53m.
- UCCS registered two more NCAA provisional qualifying marks in the women's weight throw as senior Savannah Jorgens placed fifth overall out of 35 competitors with a mark of 18.48m while redshirt junior Grace Solarin finished seventh and hit the provisional qualifying threshold for the first time this indoor season with a personal best toss of 17.34m.
- Senior Daryn Ofori-Kuragu toed the line in the invite section of the men's 200m dash and went on to post a personal best converted time of 21.67s to finish in 10th place. In the unseeded section of the event, freshman Michael Ryan Cruzado raced to a converted time of 22.22s for a 36th finish out of 70 competitors while junior Zamari Burrell clocked a personal best converted time of 22.48s for a 46th place finish.
- In the invite section of the women's 200m dash, junior Danaya Kinnard sprinted to a personal best converted time of 24.82s to claim 13th place overall. Junior Zane Bullock and freshman Katie Jewell competed in the unseeded section of the 200m dash with Bullock notching a personal best converted time of 25.41s to take 36th place out of 72 competitors and Jewell securing 41st place at a converted time of 25.56s.
- The freshman duo of Joshua Gross and Hayden Fox put together a pair of strong performances in the unseeded section of the men's 400m dash with Gross finishing seventh overall out of 43 competitors at a personal best converted time of 48.82s and Fox crossing the line in 12th place at a personal best converted time of 49.24s.
- Redshirt senior Jake Hall was the third-place finisher out of 15 competitors in the men's high jump as he cleared a bar height of 2.00m. Freshman Lyai Lyai also participated in the event, posting a mark of 1.85m to finish in 10th place.
- In the women's high jump, junior Dallis Robinson was the top finisher for the Mountain Lions as she claimed fourth place out of 21 jumpers with a mark of 1.63m. Freshman Evelyn McClellan
HOW IT HAPPENED | JOHN THOMAS TERRIER CLASSIC
- Senior Kseniya Nikanorov was the lone Mountain Lion competing in Boston on Friday evening and she put together a personal best performance in the women's 5,000m, recording an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 16:49.60 for an 18th place finish out of 91 competitors in the open section of the event.
BEYOND THE RESULTS
- The Mountain Lions posted updates to the top five list in the indoor record book for five different events on Friday, including the men's and women's 200m, women's 5,000m, and men's and women's weight throw.
