COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs track & field team completed a clean sweep of the Week 2 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) Indoor Track & Field weekly awards on Wednesday afternoon after a string of impressive performances at the Colorado Running Company Pre-Holiday Invite & Multi on Dec. 12-13 and the Potts Invitational on Jan. 17.

Broden Cahoon collected the first weekly conference awards of their respective careers at UCCS with Jean securing RMAC Men's Track Athlete of the Week accolades and Cahoon notching RMAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week honors. On the women's side, sophomore
Payton Rodgers garnered RMAC Women's Field Athlete of the Week accolades for the first time in her collegiate career, while junior
Krissie Sanders amassed the second weekly conference award of her career as the RMAC Women's Track Athlete of the Week.
The Week 2 RMAC Athlete of the Week awards included competition marks from the weekends of Dec. 12-14, Jan. 9-11, and Jan. 16-18.
Jean secured RMAC Men's Track Athlete of the Week accolades after posting a huge performance in the men's 400m dash at the Potts Invitational on Jan. 17 in which he clocked a school record raw time of 47.23s to finish first overall in a field of 29-sprinters. In addition to defeating 15 NCAA Division I runners in the competition, Jean's altitude converted NCAA provisional qualifying 400m time of 47.34s currently leads the RMAC by nearly half a second and sits No. 5 in all of NCAA Division II. Prior to winter break, Jean opened his indoor season with a strong showing on his home track at the Colorado Running Company Pre-Holiday Invite & Multi on Dec. 12-13. In the open 400m dash on Friday, the senior sprinter earned a first place finish out of 14 competitors with a converted time of 48.54s. Jean returned to the track on Saturday and raced as the opening leg of the Mountain Lions' 4x400m relay team that posted a converted time of 3:16.96, which currently ranks first in the RMAC by nearly two full seconds.
Cahoon brought home RMAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week honors with an impressive two-day showing at the Colorado Running Company Pre-Holiday Invite & Multi in December as he went on to post NCAA provisional qualifying marks in both the heptathlon and long jump. Cahoon opened the heptathlon on a strong note on Friday as he was the top finisher in the first two events, clocking a time of 6.98s in the 60m dash before unleashing an NCAA provisional qualifying leap of 7.22m in the long jump. He closed the first day of competition with solid marks of 10.61m in the shot put and 1.76m in the high jump. The senior combined athlete continued to shine on Saturday for the final three events of the heptathlon as he posted personal best marks in the 60m hurdles (8.78s) and 1,000m (2:54.58) while matching his PR in the pole vault (3.80m). He finished the heptathlon with a personal best NCAA provisional qualifying score of 4,970 points. The Farmington, N.M., native currently ranks first in the RMAC and eighth in NCAA Division II for the heptathlon and sits third in RMAC and 17
th in NCAA Division II for the long jump.
Sanders picked up RMAC Women's Track Athlete of the Week accolades for the first time since the 2024 outdoor season after a series of strong performances at the Colorado Running Company Pre-Holiday Invite & Multi and Potts Invitational. At the CRC Pre-Holiday Invite & Multi on Dec. 12-13, Sanders recorded an NCAA provisional qualifying converted time of 8.65s that registered as the second-fastest time in Friday's preliminary round before improving to a NCAA provisional qualifying time of 8.64s in Saturday's event final for a second-place finish overall. Sanders' raw time of 8.60s on Saturday also marked a personal best for the junior hurdler and moved her into second place all-time in UCCS program history for the event. The Littleton, Colo. native finished her weekend as part of the Mountain Lions' first place 4x400m relay team as she ran a split of 57.94s on the first leg of the relay to help the team post a converted time of 3:54.44. After winter break, Sanders returned to the track at the Potts Invitational on Jan. 17 and posted a personal best converted time of 57.60s in the 400m dash to finish fourth overall out of 19 competitors. Sanders was the top NCAA Division II finisher in the event and defeated six NCAA Division I athletes. Her raw time of 57.49s also moved her into the No. 3 all-time spot in the UCCS women's indoor track & field record book for the 400m. After the first three weeks of the indoor season, Sanders is ranked second in the RMAC and T-17
th in NCAA Division II for the 60m hurdles and fourth in the conference for the 400m dash while also contributing to the Mountain Lions' 4x400m relay team that leads the RMAC by nearly two full seconds.
Rodgers rounded out the Mountain Lions' sweep of the weekly conference awards as her performances at the Colorado Running Company Pre-Holiday Invite & Multi and Potts Invitational earned her a selection as the RMAC Women's Field Athlete of the Week. The Webster, Fla. native put together a huge performance in the women's triple jump on Saturday, Dec. 13, at the CRC Pre-Holiday Invite & Multi as she finished second overall in the competition with a personal best and NCAA provisional qualifying mark of 12.17m. In addition to moving her into third all-time in UCCS indoor program history for the event, Rodgers' triple jump mark currently ranks first in the RMAC and ninth in NCAA Division II. Following a few weeks off for winter break, Rodgers returned to competition at the Potts Invitational on Jan. 17 as she competed in the women's 200m for the first time in her collegiate career. Rodgers put forth a solid performance in her debut in the event, clocking a converted time of 25.57s that was good for sixth overall out of 23 competitors and placed her ahead of six NCAA Division I athletes. Rodgers currently ranks eighth in the RMAC for the women's 200m.
The Mountain Lions are set to host their second home meet of the indoor season this weekend as they will welcome seven institutions into the Mountain Lion Fieldhouse on Saturday, Jan. 24 for the Colorado Running Company UCCS Invite. Field events are scheduled to get started at 9 a.m. with the men's weight throw, while the track events will kick off at 11:30 a.m. with the women's 5,000m race.
