Mountain Lions Run to Third Place Finish at Roadrunners Invite

DENVER, Colo. – Competing in an eight-team meet Saturday morning, the University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's cross country team collected 97 points to finish third overall at the Metropolitan State University of Denver Roadrunners Invitational.

AROUND THE COURSE
  • Audrey Brunken was the first Mountain Lion to cross the finish line with her time of 22:46.07 to place 17th overall.
  • Megan Ericksen was on the heels of Brunken, earning a 21st-place finish in 22:56.93.
  • Finishing in a pack of three were Dana Pivin (29th place, 23:16.61), Lara Murdock (30th place, 23:17.74) and Sydney Fauske (31st place, 23:18.21).
                       
RACE LEADERS
  • Colorado State University won the eight-team meet with 22 points.  The Rams' Tatum Berg crossed the finish line first in 21:34.14.
 
BEYOND THE FINISH LINE
  • The top two Mountain Lions to finish today's race – Brunken and Ericksen – also notched personal best 6k times.
  • Six Mountain Lions ran their first 6k race in a Mountain Lions uniform today.  Joining Pivin and Fauske were Taryn Warren (43rd place, 23:43.07), Cate Urbani (52nd place, 23:58.71), Ella Hopkins (60th place, 24:11.90), and Emma Finchum (77th place, 24:54.08).
 
UP NEXT
  • The Mountain Lions are back in action next Saturday, Sept. 27 when they will run in the University of Wisconsin Parkside Lucian Rosa Invitational in Kenosha, Wis.  The meet will be held at the same course as the 2025 NCAA Division II National Championship meet – Wayne E. Dannehl National Cross Country Course.
