COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference announced the 2025 All-RMAC Cross Country and individual award winners on Wednesday afternoon. Ten Mountain Lions from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's and women's cross country teams earned all-conference distinction, highlighted by freshman
Elizabeth McQuitty's RMAC Women's Cross Country Freshman of the Meet award.
The all-conference teams are comprised of the top 28 finishers at the conference championships. Finishers 1-14 are named to the All-RMAC First Team, and finishers 15-28 are named to the All-RMAC Second Team.
New to the RMAC individual awards this season are the RMAC Runner of the Meet and the RMAC Freshman of the Meet. The individual champion in each race is awarded the RMAC Runner of the Meet, and the first freshman to cross the finish line is named the RMAC Freshman of the Meet. The process for determining the RMAC Runner of the Year and the RMAC Freshman of the Year is also new to the conference. This year, both awards are voted on by each of the league's 15 head coaches in the respective men's and women's programs. The RMAC Men's and Women's Coach of the Year is voted on at the conclusion of the championship meet.
Adams State University swept the Men's and Women's Runner of the Year award with Kidus Begashaw and Tristan Spence earning the most votes, respectively. The Grizzlies' Damon Martin was also awarded the RMAC Men's Coach of the Year award at the championship meet.
The Orediggers of Colorado School of Mines won all three major voting awards for Men's Freshman of the Year – Cody Wyman, Women's Freshman of the Year – Sierra Wall, and RMAC Women's Coach of the Year – Chris Siemers.
UCCS hosted the 2025 RMAC Cross Country Championships on October 25 at Monument Valley Park. The women's team earned a runner-up finish with 68 points, marking their highest finish ever at a conference championship meet, as the top six runners earned all-conference distinction. Four of the five scorers on the men's team helped UCCS post a fourth-place team finish with their all-conference performance, as the Mountain Lions collected 122 points as a team.
