UCCS Places Sixth at Roadrunners Invitational

DENVER, Colo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's cross country team sent nine Mountain Lions to compete in the Metropolitan State University of Denver Roadrunners Invitational on Saturday morning.  UCCS claimed a sixth-place finish in the nine-team meet with 168 points at Washington Park.

AROUND THE COURSE
  • Tyler Campbell paced the Mountain Lions with a 26th-place finish in 26:05.26, just three seconds off his personal best 8k time.
  • Jacob Kinne and Alex Thomasson finished within 10 seconds of each other, posting times of 26:47.99 and 26:57.26 to finish 46th and 49th overall, respectively.
  • Crossing the finish line back-to-back in 66th place and 67th place were Jacob Silvis and Colin Scheller.  Silvis clocked a time of 27:22.86, beating teammate Scheller by one second (27:23.62).
                       
RACE LEADERS
  • Unattached runner Emad Bashir-Mohammed earned the individual title with his time of 24:21.51.
  • Colorado School of Mines claimed the title behind 26 points to finish on top of all nine teams.

BEYOND THE FINISH LINE
  • Kinne and Thomasson recorded new personal best times this morning. 
 
UP NEXT
  • UCCS will send a group of runners to Kenosha, Wis. next Saturday for the University of Wisconsin Parkside Lucian Rosa Invitational.  The meet will be held at the same course as the 2025 NCAA Division II National Championship meet – Wayne E. Dannehl National Cross Country Course.
