Each institution's athletic communications directors nominate student-athletes who academically maintain at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average, along with the other criteria for the Academic Honor Roll, for recognition on the First Team Academic All-RMAC in each sport. The league's athletic communications directors for that sport vote to compose the First Team Academic All-RMAC and select the Academic Player of the Year.
The RMAC Academic Honor Roll recognizes student-athletes in each conference-sponsored sport who academically maintain at least a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average, have completed two consecutive semesters at their current institution, and have used a season of competition.
An RMAC Honorable Mention selection earlier this month, junior defender
Kendra Knutson started all 15 games for the Mountain Lions, picking up a team high 43 ground balls and adding 16 caused turnovers. A native of Savage, Minn., Knutson finished the season ranking fifth overall in the RMAC for ground balls per game (2.87). Making her first appearance on the RMAC All-Academic First Team after being named to the Honor Roll last season, Knutson tallied a career high seven ground balls at Regis on March 27. In three seasons at UCCS, Knutson is ranked fourth all-time in ground balls (103), sixth in caused turnovers (41), and seventh in games started (48). She is majoring in Business at UCCS.
Sarah Urbanic became the first Mountain Lion in program history to earn Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Player of the Week honors when she was named the Division II Offensive Player of the Week on April 8. Also a two-time RMAC Offensive Player of the Week honoree, Urbanic was voted to the All-RMAC First Team. A starter in all 15 games, the Criminal Justice major led the Mountain Lions in goals (56), points (75), shots (113), shots on goal (82), player-up goals (nine) and game-winning goals (four), while ranking second on the team in assists with 19. She set new program season records in points (75), points per game (5.00), goals, goals per game (3.73), shots attempted, player-up goals, and game-winning goals. On April 4 at home against Colorado State University Pueblo, the Carlsbad, Calif. native broke the school record for most goals scored in a game when she netted nine in a 22-6 win. The sophomore attacker recorded 11 hat tricks, including three sock tricks.
The Mountain Lions notched their first winning season since 2022 after collecting a 9-6 overall record and the third-best conference record (6-4).
