COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The 2026 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Women's Lacrosse Preseason Coaches' Poll was released Thursday afternoon, with the University of Colorado Colorado Springs earning a third-place spot in the poll. The Mountain Lions received two second-place votes and three third-place votes as part of their 17 points.
The defending RMAC Co-Champions – Colorado Mesa University and No. 13 Regis University, each received 23 points as the preseason favorites to lead the six-team league. Filling in the final three spots in the poll are Westminster University (13 points), Colorado State University Pueblo (nine points), and Fort Lewis College (five points). Coaches were not permitted to vote for their own team.
Representing the Mountain Lions on the 12-player Preseason All-RMAC Team are sophomore attacker

Jade Wilson. The preseason team is determined by placing returning players in order of head coaches' voting from the league's 2025 All-RMAC Team.

Sofia Watts delivered a standout freshman season in 2025, earning All-RMAC Second Team honors and a spot on the RMAC All-Tournament Team. She started 12 of 15 games and paced the offense with 43 goals and four assists for 47 points. Watts fired 88 shots, placing 70 on goal, and recorded nine player-up goals, six free-position goals, and two game-winners. She also contributed in the circle with 43 draws and added 18 ground balls. One of the RMAC's top offensive threats, Watts ranked fourth in the league in goals per game (2.9) and shots per game (5.9), while finishing eighth in points per game (3.1).
Entering her second season with the Mountain Lions, senior defender
Jade Wilson anchored the draw circle in 2025, leading the team with 68 draw controls and posting four games with at least 10 draws. An All-RMAC Second Team selection, Wilson appeared in all 15 contests with 10 starts. The Waukee, Iowa native added three goals and three assists, placing 15 of her 18 shots on frame.
UCCS finished the 2025 season with a 9–6 overall record and a 6–4 RMAC mark under first-year head coach
Brice Queener. The Mountain Lions will play 11 of their 16 games at home this season, opening the year Feb. 22 against No. 6 Maryville University at 11 a.m.
