HOW IT HAPPENED
FIRST QUARTER: UCCS 4, FLC 4

FLC won the ensuing draw and tied the game 27 seconds later. Kendra Knutson caused FLC to lose possession which led to Urbanic scoring her first goal and second point of the game, before Jade Wilson put the Mountain Lions up 3-1 on a free-position goal at 9:22. The Skyhawks were able to knot the game on back-to-back goals but Urbanic ended nearly an eight minute scoring drought for UCCS, giving them the lead back again, 4-3 with 90 ticks left in the first quarter. FLC's Jasmine Nguyen scored a free-position goal with one second left, as the Skyhawks tied the game for the third time of the afternoon, 4-4.
SECOND QUARTER: UCCS 7, FLC 1
- The home team kicked it into extra gear in the second quarter, outscoring the blue and yellow, 7-1, forcing FLC to commit eight turnovers and five fouls. Urbanic started the scoring spree when Meghan Weiss picked up a ground ball from FLC's turnover, followed by Sydnee-Anne Moeller netting a player-up goal when she caught a pass from Emma Grace Martin. The Skyhawks' lone goal in the quarter came from Nguyen, but the Mountain Lions responded with more goals from Urbanic, Rylie Maready (Martin assist), and Urbanic found Martin to give UCCS a 9-5 advantage with 4:54 left in the half. Lauren Schindlbeck joined in on the scoring action when she netted her second goal of the season, before Rivera found the back of the net on an Allie Schell assist, putting UCCS on top, 11-5, at halftime.
THIRD QUARTER: UCCS 7, FLC 4
- Schell assisted Moeller on a player-up goal to start the second half and Urbanic collected another goal 46 seconds later. Martin added one of her five assists to Martin to push the lead to nine, 14-5. The Skyhawks answered UCCS on three straight goals to prevent the 10-goal lead, but Martin's player-up goal at 5:10 extended the home team's lead, 18-8. The 10-goal lead didn't last long as FLC won the draw control and scored less than four minutes from the fourth quarter, cutting into the Mountain Lions' lead, 18-9.
FOURTH QUARTER: UCCS 5, FLC 3
- The Mountain Lions took advantage of FLC's penalties and netted two-straight player-up goals from Watts and Schindlebck, respectively, in the first five minutes of the fourth quarter. Leading 20-10, Martin, Moeller, and Brennan Kelly added insurance goals for the Mountain Lions to keep their 10-goal lead and roll to a 23-12 home win.
