A known threat on offense, Martinez turned in a season-high 25-point performance against CSU Pueblo on January 11
th, a mark was just one bucket behind his career best of 27 points. His season highlight, however, was a track back steal into a game-winning three-pointer in the final ten seconds to beat the then #5 ranked Colorado School of Mines Orediggers.
To round out the Mountain Lions' honorees senior guard
Hannes Saar earns his first Honorable Mention selection of his career after his second season with UCCS. Saar started all 29 games for UCCS and was a frequent threat in the Mountain Lions attack. Not afraid to draw attention underneath, Saar turned in eighteen double-digit scoring performances including two twenty-point outings. Averaging 31.6 minutes a game, Saar was one of the most reliable players in the conference pairing his durability and production.
The Mountain Lions returned to the playoffs for the first time in two seasons after finishing the regular season 17-11 with a 11-9 record in conference competition. UCCS' season ended in the RMAC Tournament Quarterfinals when they fell 93-90 to Regis in an overtime instant classic.
