SECOND QUARTER: CMU 4, UCCS 2
  • The offense slowed down for both squads in the second half, with the two teams combining for six goals.  Emma Grace Martin assisted on both of UCCS' goals in the second quarter when she found Erica Rivera and Watts, who each put the ball in the back of the net.  Ellen Gernert made her entry into the game when she protected the cage to start the second quarter, stopping four saves to keep the Mavericks' lead down to a six-goal difference at halftime, 11-5.
THIRD QUARTER: CMU 4, UCCS 3
  • Watts recorded a hat trick when she broke a more than four-minute scoring drought for both teams, scoring off a free-position attempt at 10:40.  Schell added two more goals for the Mountain Lions as the defense forced CMU into committing four turnovers.
