KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's soccer team ranks #11 in the 2025 postseason United Soccer Coaches National Poll after a NCAA tournament run that saw them reach the program's second South Central Regional Final in the last three seasons.
The four teams that reached the NCAA DII Final Four make up the top four spots in the final poll with the national champions, Florida Tech, taking the top spot to end the year. Cal Poly Pomona who came into the last weekend as the defending champs take the #2 spot despite falling to Florida Tech in the semifinals, as national runner up Franklin Pierce, and Washburn round out the top three.
Colorado School of Mines, who was eliminated by the Mountain Lions in the regional semifinal round in penalty kicks, slides six spots to #13 after maintaining position in the top ten for much of the fall season. Colorado Mesa, who suffered a first round extra time loss to unranked Texas Woman's falls out of the top 25, as they are now receiving votes.
The Mountain Lions finished the fall season third in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference behind the CSM and CMU, falling to the Orediggers in the RMAC Semifinals on penalty kicks 5-4. UCCS then entered the NCAA tournament as the #3 seed in the South Central region and defeated Midwestern State and Colorado School of Mines before falling 3-2 in extra time to then #1 Dallas Baptist on the road.
Emily Aguilar put an exclamation point on her time in Colorado Springs, scoring both goals for the Mountain Lions in their final match against DBU, as she completes four seasons with the program.
UCCS finished the 2025 fall season with a 14-3-6 record.
