COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs Head Women's Soccer Coach
J. B. Belzer announced the signing of seven student athletes ahead of the 2026 Women's Soccer season. The class includes seven incoming freshmen, with three transfers.
"Our 2026 class compliments a strong returning group that succeeded with a run to the 2025 Sweet 16 and a #11 national ranking," shared Head UCCS Women's Soccer Coach
J. B. Belzer. "This squad is reaching maturity, and the sky is truly the limit as we arrive in August with full expectations to compete for RMAC, South-Central, and National honors."
Kamryn Albeso joins the Mountain Lions this fall from Mililani, Hawaii and reunites with her former high school teammate
Mia Moss in Colorado Springs. An All-OIA West Girls Soccer Honorable Mention in 2024, Albeso improved to a Second Team selection in 2025, also helping lead her team to the state finals in 2024, finishing as the runner-up.
"Kamryn is that technically proficient playmaker that everyone wants in their side," said Coach Belzer. "Her scan frequency and willingness to perform through all four match moments empowers her success."
Lilliana Brinkmeier comes to UCCS after spending the first season of her college career in Durango, Colo. at RMAC rival Fort Lewis College. Brinkmeier played 61 minutes for the Skyhawks as a freshman, while away from the pitch she was a member of the 4.0 club and served on the Student Athlete Advisory Committee. As a high school athlete, Brinkmeier was very accomplished, owning a 41-18-3 record with 30 shutouts a Sandpoint High School. She helped the Bulldogs to the district playoffs in all four seasons, making the state tournament her sophomore, junior, and senior seasons, and winning the stat title as a junior in 2023.
"A transfer GK from Fort Lewis, Lilliana brings college experience with solid athleticism and technical range to our keeper corps," commented Belzer. "Her competitive nature and analytical skills will complement this team, permitting us to pursue championships."
Charlize Ellsworth begins her collegiate career after graduating from Green Mountain High School up the road in Lakewood, Colo. Ellsworth appeared in 67 games for the Rams, scoring 52 goals and assisting on another 23. A 4A Second Team All-State selection and Jefferson County First Team All-Conference selection, Ellsworth helped the Rams to four consecutive playoff appearances and earned two First Team All-State All-Academic honors.
"A 1v1 attack artist, Charli loves to skin an opponent," added Belzer. "Whether playing wide in the channel or posting back to goal as a striker, she just finds ways to create and score goals."
Madison Groshong, sister of UCCS center back
Malia Groshong, joins the squad from Hillsboro, Oregon, where she graduated from Valley Catholic High School. A three time All-State selection, including two to the First Team, Groshong helped the Valiants to four appearances to the state semifinals, with only one semifinal loss on her career. Groshong finished her prep career with two years as the state runner-up, and one state championship (2022).
"So versatile in her club and HS play, it will be exciting to watch Madi integrate into this squad as she has abilities throughout the vertical spine of the team," said Belzer. "Her size and strength will be a key asset."
Allyson Henry joins the Mountain Lions for her final year of eligibility after spending her undergraduate years at Cal Poly Pomona and the University of Denver. Most recently, in her lone season at Pomona, Henry scored three goals with two game-winners, and two assists for the Broncos in 1,034 regular season minutes, adding one Defensive Player of the Week award.
"Bringing loads of experience from her seasons at the University of Denver and Cal Poly Pomona, Ally knows our game model and will flourish as a wingback or attacking fullback," boasted Belzer. "Ally just loves to win!"
Lucy Kapranos, also hailing from the Portland area, brings her talents to UCCS after being a standout in multiple sports at Grant High School. A four year letter winner in soccer, basketball, and lacrosse, Kapranos was also a team captain on all three squads. A 2023 State Champion, Kapranos brings a wealth of leadership skills with postseason success to the Mountain Lion locker room.
"Lucy is a composed, technical keeper with solid back-to-bar skill," said Belzer. "Her ability to play in possession as we build excites along with her natural leadership qualities."

Spending the last few years at Peninsula College, Petty earned her Associate of Arts degree while with the Pirates. With back-to-back North Division Championships in 2023, and 2024, Petty and the Pirates enjoyed an undefeated season in '24 as they captured the NWAC title.
"Bringing her success from national JUCO powerhouse, Peninsula College, Anna Looks to contribute centrally and wide in our midfield this fall," Belzer added. "Her soccer IQ and resilience match our program standards perfectly."
