COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's and women's track & field team composed another strong slate of competition on Saturday for day two of the Colorado Running Company Pre-Holiday Invite & Multi as the Mountain Lions added 11 NCAA provisional qualifying marks to their ledger and won seven events.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Seniors Kyle Demos and Kane Fobare claimed the top two spots in the men's shot put as Demos posted a season-best and NCAA provisional qualifying mark of 17.05m to finish first overall and Fobare registered a personal best NCAA provisional qualifying toss of 16.64m for a second-place finish. Freshman Cam Bruns and redshirt freshman Joseph Bjegovich also notched top five finishes in the 14-person field with Bruns taking third place at 15.02m and Bjegovich finishing in fourth place at 14.31m.
- Competing in the women's triple jump for the first time this season, sophomore Payton Rodgers leapt to a personal best and NCAA provisional qualifying mark of 12.17m as she finished second overall out of 18 jumpers in the event. UCCS had four additional student-athletes finish inside the top half of the competition with senior Kathryn Carroll finishing fifth at 11.56m, sophomore Sophia Bowser taking sixth place with a personal best mark of 11.45m, junior Brielle Bracken securing seventh place at a mark of 11.33m, and junior Danaya Kinnard claiming eighth place with a mark of 11.29m.
- A pair of Mountain Lions hit the NCAA provisional qualifying threshold in the men's triple jump as sophomore Realiti Smith finished fourth overall with a personal best mark of 14.78m while freshman Jason Lomosi finished fifth overall with a personal best leap of 14.64m.
- The Mountain Lions had a pair of student-athletes earn an NCAA provisional qualifying mark in the heptathlon as senior Broden Cahoon notched a fourth-place finish overall with a final score of 4,945 points and senior Dillon Arvayo took fifth place with a final score of 4,922 points. Cahoon had a strong final day of competition as he posted personal best marks in the 60m hurdles (8.78s) and 1,000m (2:54.58) while matching his PR in the pole vault (3.80m). Arvayo surged into fifth place with a pair of personal best marks of his own as he reached 4.50m in the pole vault for the first time and registered a career-best time of 8.55s in the 60m hurdles.
- UCCS had two student-athletes reach the NCAA provisional qualifying threshold in the women's high jump as junior Dallis Robinson cleared a personal best mark of 1.70m to finish first overall in the competition and junior Lilyana Delagarza recorded a personal best mark of 1.67m for a fourth-place finish.
- Redshirt senior Jake Hall led the way for the Mountain Lions in the men's high jump as he cleared an NCAA provisional qualifying bar height of 2.04m for a second-place finish in the event.
- The Mountain Lions had the top four finishers in the 12-person women's shot put field as redshirt junior Grace Solarin took first place with a personal best toss of 13.49m while redshirt junior Bailey Young (13.06m), freshman Carley Malinowski (12.82m), and senior Savannah Jorgens (12.78m) finished in second, third, and fourth place, respectively.
- Junior Krissie Sanders posted a second-place finish in the women's 60m hurdles final as she raced to a personal best raw time of 8.60s, which converted to an NCAA provisional qualifying converted time of 8.64s. Senior Abigail Frey crossed the finish line directly behind Sanders in third place with a converted time of 8.89s, while freshman Colette Bibeault secured a fifth-place finish with a converted time of 9.02s. Junior Bryce Joshlin recorded a seventh-place finish in the men's 60m hurdles final as he tied his season-best in the event with a converted time of 8.61s.
- The Mountain Lions placed three sprinters in the top five in the men's 60m dash final, led by senior Daryn Ofori-Kuragu in second place with a converted time of 6.87s. Freshman Noah Brown crossed the finish line in third place with a converted time of 6.89s, while junior Luke Trinrud notched a fourth-place finish with a converted time of 6.91s. UCCS also saw three student-athletes earn top five finishes in the women's 60m dash final as junior Taryn Fettig clocked a converted time of 7.73s to finish second overall with freshmen Leiava Holliman (3rd) and Katie Jewell (5th) not far behind with converted times of 7.74s and 7.78s, respectively.
- Freshman Michael Ryan Cruzado and junior Luke Trinrud claimed the top two spots out of 24 competitors in the men's 200m dash as Cruzado (22.352s) narrowly edged out Trinrud (22.360s) for the event win by just eight-thousandths of a second. In addition to Cruzado and Trinrud posting converted times of 22.09 in the event, freshman Revano Plummer clocked a converted time of 22.26s to secure a fifth-place finish.
- In the women's 200m, junior Danaya Kinnard raced to a personal best converted time of 24.90s to claim a first-place finish in the field of 22 sprinters. The Mountain Lions also locked down the next five finishers in the competition with freshman Katie Jewell (25.52c), junior Zane Bullock (25.53c), junior Taryn Fettig (25.70c), freshman Olivia Clay (25.89c), and freshman Emili Voelker (26.21c) filling the No. 2-6 positions in the race.
- The Mountain Lions finished the meet with an internal showdown in the men's and women's 4x400m relay race as both genders had a pair of relay teams go head-to-head on the track. On the men's side, the relay team of Sebastien Jean, Hayden Fox, Joshua Gross, and Andrew Muncy collected the event win with a converted time of 3:16.96. In the women's race, it was the relay team consisting of Krissie Sanders, Abigail Frey, Gigi Douillard, and Lilyana Delagarza that crossed the line first with a converted time of 3:54.44.
BEYOND THE RESULTS
- The Mountain Lions posted updates to the top five list in the indoor record book for seven different events on Saturday, including the women's 200m, women's 60m hurdles, women's high jump, women's triple jump, men's shot put, women's shot put, and heptathlon.

- The Mountain Lions will resume their indoor season after winter break when they head to Boulder, Colo. for the Potts Invitational on Jan. 16-17.
