UCCS WSOC Ranks No. 14 in Week 10 of the USCNP.

Women’s Soccer Ranked No. 14 in Last United Soccer Coaches National Poll of the Regular Season

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's soccer team ranks #14 in week ten of the United Soccer Coaches National Poll after defeating Westminster 2-1 in double overtime in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Tournament Quarterfinals. 

Despite suffering their first loss of the season, Dallas Baptist University (16-1-0) continues to sit in the No. 1 spot for the fifth consecutive week. Catawba College (14-0-4) claws their way up to second place after smothering Lincoln Memorial 5-1 in the South Atlantic Conference Tournament Quarterfinals. With a 1-0 loss to St. Cloud State, Minnesota State University-Mankato dropped to third place, but will go on to compete in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Tournament Semifinals on November 14. Two programs receiving votes last week are now ranked: #21 Azusa Pacific University and #T23 Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (Fla.). 

Following a 1-1 draw against CSU Pueblo and a 4-1 win over Adams State in the RMAC Tournament Quarterfinals, Colorado School of Mines (13-2-3) continues to rank No. 7. With a record of 13-2-2, Colorado Mesa University rises to the No. 22 spot after previously ranking #23. Fort Lewis College is the only other RMAC representative receiving votes in week 10 of the USCNP. 

With a conference record of 9-0-2, Colorado Mesa continues to place first in the RMAC standings. After earning a 2-1 victory against Westminster this past weekend, UCCS (8-1-3) ranks #3, trailing close behind Colorado School of Mines (9-1-2) in the No. 2 spot. The Mountain Lions have scored 43 goals thus far, putting them in first place for most goals scored this season. Similarly, UCCS leads in most assists (32) and most shots (324) as well. Goalkeeper Nylah Mirshafiei continues to rank fourth for most number of shutouts per game, totaling nine for the season. 

Taylynn Levi scored her third goal of the season against Westminster and recorded a single assist, putting her in the No. 3 spot for most assists (7) within the RMAC, and top 30 in Division II. After burying a stunning goal in overtime against the Griffins, Abby Stassi ranks #2 in the RMAC for most goals scored this season, logging a total of 15 goals across 19 matches. 

UCCS will compete against (2) #7 Colorado School of Mines in the RMAC Tournament Semifinals at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, November 12 inside CMU Community Hospital Unity Field in Grand Junction, Colorado.
