10/8/2025 1:08:00 PM

NEW ORLEANS, La. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs cross country teams hold steady in the Top-15 of the 2025 United States Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division II National Coaches' Week 4 Polls. Both Mountain Lion squads remain in the same ranking spot as last week, with the women's team earning 183 points for the No. 8 ranking, and the men's program collecting 152 points to be ranked No. 12 overall.

Both teams were idle this past weekend in preparation for the conference championships, held on Oct. 25 in Colorado Springs, Colo. at Monument Valley Park and hosted by UCCS.

Colorado School of Mines stayed at No. 1 for the second week with 236 points in the women's poll.  Four other schools from the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference outside of Mines and UCCS are also ranked in the Top 25: No. 4 Adams State University, No. 7 Western Colorado University, No. 11 Fort Lewis College, and No. T17 Colorado State University Pueblo.

In the men's Top 25 rankings, Colorado School of Mines overtook Wingate at No. 1 with 237 points, followed by No. 3 Adams State, No. 6 Colorado Christian University, No. 9 Western Colorado, No. 12 UCCS, and No. 17 Fort Lewis from the RMAC.

The Mountain Lions are one of five RMAC institutions to have both men's and women's programs ranked in the Top 25: Mines, ASU, WCU, and FLC.

There was no movement by any team from last week's South Central Regional polls in either the men's or women's regional polls.  UCCS remains steady at No. 6 in the men's poll, and No. 5 on the women's side.

The Mountain Lions will have a handful of runners competing this Friday, Oct. 10 in the UCCS XC Open, held at Monument Valley Park.  The men's 8k race begins at 9 a.m. followed by the women's 6k race at 9:45 a.m.
