Jagger Zlotoff led the No. 19 University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's cross country team to a first place finish at the 2024 University of Wisconsin-Parkside Lucian Rosa Invitational, held at the legendary Dannehl National Cross Country Course in Kenosha, Wis.

AROUND THE COURSE
- Jagger Zlotoff bested all 108 competitors on the course with an 8k time of 25:13.5, 15 seconds ahead of teammate and runner-up Enzo Knapp (25:28.1).
- Brett Davis and Joseph Impellitteri posted top-10 finishes, crossing the finish line in fourth and ninth place, respectively. Both Mountain Lions recorded personal best 8k times, with Davis clocking a time of 25:35.6 and Impellitteri finishing in 25:56.1.
- Jack Donze added 11 points to the team score with an 11th place finish in 26:00.3.
RACE LEADERS
- Zlotoff has won both meets he has competed in this season, leading the Mountain Lions to two team wins.
- UCCS tallied a 13-point advantage over second place Hillsdale.
BEYOND THE FINISH LINE
- Along with Davis and Impellitteri's career best 8k times, three more Mountain Lions added personal best times this morning. Koy Cunningham posted a time of 26:04.8 (13th place), with Turner Schad in 15th place in a time of 26:21.8, and Alex Fernandez eight seconds behind Schad in 26:29.1 (16th place).
- Isaac Higareda ran in his first career 8k race for the Mountain Lions, notching a 37th place finish in 27:37.3.
- This marks the third time in the last four the Mountain Lions have competed in the UWP Lucian Rosa Invite. In all three meets, UCCS has won the team and individual titles.
UP NEXT
- The Mountain Lions will return to the competition course on Friday, Oct. 11 at the UCCS XC Open, held at Monument Valley Park.
