Track & Field Secures Team and Individual USTFCCCA All-Academic Accolades

NEW ORLEANS, La. – The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released the 2023-24 Track & Field All-Academic Awards on Monday afternoon, with the University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's and women's track & field teams both collecting team awards and 25 student-athletes from the men's and women's programs earning individual accolades.
 
The 2023-24 season marks the third consecutive academic year where both the men's and women's track & field squads have been named USTFCCCA All-Academic Teams and the seventh straight year that the women's team has earned the accolade. The Mountain Lion women's team finished the campaign with a 3.396 cumulative GPA while the men's squad recorded a 3.166 cumulative GPA.
 
To be named a USTFCCCA NCAA Division II All-Academic Team, the cumulative GPA for all student-athletes on the institution's NCAA Squad List for Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field must be 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
 
On an individual basis, UCCS had 25 student-athletes secure USTFCCCA All-Academic honors, including 14 from the women's team and 11 from the men's team.
 
To be named a USTFCCCA Division II All-Academic Athlete, student-athletes must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of a 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and must have completed at least 24 semester hours/36 quarter hours through the end of the semester of competition at the institution. Transfer students and/or graduate students are to include only grades earned at the current nominating institution, and the student-athlete must have achieved a provisional qualifying mark (individual or relay event) for either the indoor season or outdoor season.
