- Again it was the Orediggers opening the scoring in the second frame, this time earning two solo shots, one from Trent Nielsen and one from Keene Tanaka.

- For the next two innings, it was all Orediggers with the hosts scoring six runs before the Mountain Lions would answer in the sixth. The push was highlighted by a two run shot off the bat of Luke Folsom to get the six run effort started.
- A Liam Whalen sacrifice fly in the sixth gave UCCS their second tally, but the Orediggers responded in the bottom of the frame with three more runs, making the lead eleven at 13-2.
- Caleb Stubbings and Kasey Campbell added runs in the seventh for UCCS, but the effort was too little to late for the Mountain Lions as they fell in the second game of the doubleheader 13-4.
