COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) released their major award winners and all-conference honorees for the 2024 outdoor track & field season on Wednesday afternoon with Audrey Bloomquist of the University of Colorado Colorado Springs track & field team being selected as the league's Women's Field Athlete of the Year. The UCCS men's and women's track & field teams also combined to record a total of 52 All-RMAC honors, including 30 first team accolades and 22 second team accolades.

Joining Bloomquist as major award winners on the women's side were Adams State University's Gracie Hyde as the Women's Track Athlete of the Year, New Mexico Highlands University's Ashley Barrett as the Women's Freshman of the Year, and Colorado School of Mines' Matt Sparks as the Women's Coach of the Year.

Colorado Mesa University earned three of the four major awards on the men's side, with Zace Buckhold being named the Men's Field Athlete of the Year, Miller Jones being tabbed the Men's Freshman of the Year, and Brad Gamble being voted as the Men's Coach of the Year. Adams State's Romain Legendre rounded the men's major awards as he was selected as the Men's Track Athlete of the Year.

All major awards were voted on by the conference's head coaches. First Team All-RMAC consists of the top three individual finishers from each event and the first-place relay teams at the RMAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Second Team All-RMAC consists of the fourth, fifth and sixth place individual finishers, along with the second-place relay teams.

A native of Helena, Mont., Bloomquist earns the second RMAC Field Athlete of the Year award of her career after also securing the accolade during the 2023-24 indoor season. In her final campaign as a member of the UCCS women's track & field team, Bloomquist went on to record NCAA provisional qualifying marks in four separate events, including the triple jump, long jump, 100m, and 4x100m. The exceptional graduate student put her talents on display at the 2024 RMAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships on April 26-28 as she scored a meet-leading 30 points to be named the Dr. Randy Rhine Women's Performer of the Meet. At the conference championship meet, Bloomquist earned individual conference championships in the triple jump and long jump while also nabbing second place finishes in the 100m and 4x100m relay. In addition, Bloomquist was recently tabbed as a USTFCCCA All-South Central Region honoree in the triple jump and gained the title of top regional performer in the event with her season-best and school record mark of 12.59m. She will conclude her outdoor season this week at the 2024 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships, where she will compete individually in the women's triple jump and as part of the UCCS women's 4x100m relay team.

In addition to Bloomquist's major award, the Mountain Lion men's and women's teams also combined to post 52 All-Conference honors at the 2024 RMAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships, including 32 on the men's side and 20 on the women's side.
