COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Eight different Mountain Lions found the back of the net Saturday afternoon as the University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's lacrosse team notched a 17-8 win over Colorado State University Pueblo inside Mountain Lion Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
FIRST QUARTER: CSUP 3, UCCS 2
- A turnover by Colorado State Pueblo started the Mountain Lions first score of the game as Kathryn Kossack picked up the ground ball that eventually led to an unassisted goal by Julia Patrick. Two minutes later CSUP evened the score at 1-1 with Elisa Magee's goal. Ashley Weiss tallied her first career goal at 6:11 in the first quarter before the Pack struck twice to end the opening 15 minutes of action and a 3-2 lead.
SECOND QUARTER: UCCS 6, CSUP 2
- Reese Wasmund gave the ThunderWolves their largest lead of the game, 4-2, but Kiley Cuddahy won the ensuing draw control as Olivia Evans connected with Peyton Ross 42 seconds later. The ThunderWolves lead evaporated at 8:15 in the second stanza as Allie Schell scored a player-up goal. Schell then assisted Brielle Fannin with 7:13 left in the half to give UCCS a 5-4 lead. The Pack tied the game on a Sedona Sargent goal before UCCS ended the half with three straight goals from Patrick, Rivera and Cuddahy, snagging an 8-5 lead at intermission.
THIRD QUARTER: UCCS 5, CSUP 1
- UCCS' defense shined in the second half, holding CSUP to just three goals and 14 shot attempts. Patrick completed a hat trick to open the second half while Fannin added a free-position goal as Weiss ended a 6-0 scoring spree for the Mountain Lions with her second goal of the game. Leading 11-6 with 6:38 left in the third period, Patrick added a free-position, player-up goal and ended the quarter with her fifth goal of the game on an assist from Cuddahy with three ticks left on the game clock.
FOURTH QUARTER: UCCS 4, CSUP 2
- Holding onto a 13-6 lead to start the final stanza, the Mountain Lions recorded goals from Schell, Sarah Urbanic, Patrick and Cuddahy to claim the 17-8 win.
FINAL SCORE: UCCS 17, CSUP 8
GAME STATISTICS
- Five of the eight Mountain Lions that netted a goal today scored multiple goals.
- Patrick netted a game high six goals and added an assist for a game high seven points. Eight of her 10 shots were on goal and she picked up two ground balls.
- Cuddahy, Schell, Fannin and Weiss each put two balls int eh back of the net while Rivera assisted on a game high three scored and added a goal herself.
- Rivera and Kossack each snagged five ground balls while Rivera caused a team high two turnovers.
- McGriff was nearly unstoppable in the cage, making 15 saves for a .652 save percentage.
- Elisa Magee scored a team high three goals and an assist for the ThunderWolves.
- UCCS was successful on 20-of-26 clear attempts and caused seven CSUP turnovers.
- The Mountain Lion outshot the Pack, 39-31, and 29-23 in shots on goal.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- As a team, the Mountain Lions notched multiple season highs today, including points (28), goals (17), assists (11), shots (39), shots on goal (29) and ground balls (32).
- Individually, Patrick posted season highs for the Mountain Lions in points (seven), goals (six), shots (10) and shots on goal (eight).
- Patrick's goal in the third period proved to be the game-winning goal, her second of the season. Her sixth goal of the game at 4:34 in the fourth period tied the all-time record for most career goals with 124.
- Patrick has recorded 31 multiple-goal games in her career, including 21 hat tricks.
- Schell's two player-up goals today move her into third for most player-up goals in a season (five).
