PUEBLO, Colo. – Competing in Pueblo, Colo., for the third consecutive weekend, the University of Colorado Colorado Springs track & field team posted six event wins and five NCAA provisional qualifying marks at the Chuck Haering Open Invitational.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Redshirt senior Skye Ciccarelli put forth a personal best effort in the men's high jump as he cleared a bar height of 2.13m to finish second overall in the competition. Ciccarelli's career-best mark registers as an NCAA provisional qualifying mark for the event and ranks second all-time in UCCS men's outdoor program history.
- Redshirt sophomore Jagger Zlotoff raced to a first-place finish in the men's 5,000m while hitting the NCAA provisional qualifying threshold for the event with a converted time of 14:10.25. Zlotoff's raw time of 14:32.51 also moved him into fourth place all-time in UCCS men's outdoor program history for the 5,000m race. UCCS also had three additional runners place inside the top-ten among the 23 finishers in the race, including junior Logan Cole in third place at a personal best converted time of 14:37.56, redshirt freshman Koy Cunningham in seventh place at a converted time of 15:06.02, and redshirt freshman Caden Leal at a converted time of 15:06.42.
- UCCS added another NCAA provisional qualifying mark in the women's hammer throw, where redshirt senior Anna Holland recorded a season-best mark of 53.25m to finish in first place overall in the field of 16 throwers. Redshirt senior Cassielynn Bonner also finished inside the top-ten with a sixth-place finish as she came up just shy of her season-best with a toss of 48.37m.
- Senior Melissa Moreni was the top overall finisher in the women's 100m hurdles as she clocked an altitude-converted time of 14.01s, which registered as an NCAA provisional qualifying mark but was just shy of her season-best time of 13.95s.
- Redshirt senior Audrey Bloomquist made her outdoor season debut for the Mountain Lions on Saturday and went on to finish second overall in the women's long jump with an NCAA provisional qualifying leap of 5.84m.
- In the men's 100m dash, redshirt senior Brian Mosley Jr. posted a season best converted time of 10.51s to earn a first-place finish and come just one-hundreth of a second from matching the provisional qualifying threshold in the event. Mosley Jr. came back later in the afternoon to record a third-place finish in the men's 200m with a wind-aided, converted time of 21.60s.
- The Mountain Lions had a pair of student-athletes post season-best efforts in the men's hammer throw as sophomore Michael Roberts earned fourth place in the event with a personal best mark of 54.24m and Luke Hard finished in fifth place with a toss of 54.23m. Roberts' personal best mark ranks third all-time in UCCS program history for the hammer throw.
- In the women's discus throw, freshman Casey Moran continued her upward trend as she posted another personal best in the event with a third-place mark of 43.28m. Her mark also moved her up to third all-time in UCCS program history for the women's discus throw.
- Freshman Phia Edwards made another leap forward in the women's pole vault as she cleared a personal best bar of 3.63m to finish tied for fourth in the event. Her mark moves her into third place all-time in outdoor program history for the event.
- Redshirt senior Dillon Andrews picked up a first-place finish in the men's 400m hurdles as he posted an altitude-converted time of 53.49s, which was just shy of his season-best that he established last weekend.
- In the women's shot put, sophomore Savannah Jorgens posted a personal best toss of 12.67m to finish fifth overall in the competition. Jorgens' mark moves her into third place all-time for the women's outdoor shot put.
- The sophomore duo of Kyle Demos and Michael Roberts put up season-best efforts in the men's discus throw, with Demos recording a mark of 47.80m to finish second overall and Roberts unleashing a personal best toss of 45.30m for a seventh-place finish.
- At the sand pits, redshirt senior Peyton Turnage turned in a first-place finish as he put a mark on the board for the first time this outdoor season, reaching a distance of 6.94m.
- UCCS had a pair of student-athletes finish inside the top-five in the women's javelin throw with senior Caroline Walters claiming third place with a toss of 36.58m and freshman Lanette St. John posting a personal best mark of 35.16m to finish fifth overall.
- The Mountain Lions claimed two of the top three spots in the women's 5,000m field of 17 racers, with sophomore Kseniya Nikanorov leading the way in second place with a converted time of 17:49.80. Senior Kelsey Graff crossed the line shortly after Nikanorov, earning a third-place finish with a converted time of 17:59.80.
- Redshirt sophomore Alex Maline paced the Mountain Lions in the men's 800m as he clocked a converted time of 1:55.75 to finish sixth overall in the field of 40 runners. Freshman Jayr Almerida also had a strong race, coming across the line in 12th place at a converted time of 1:56.99.
- In the women's 800m, Trinity Dixon was the first UCCS student-athlete across the line as she clocked a converted time of 2:17.52 to finish 11th overall in a field of 39 runners.
- Freshman Dallis Robinson recorded a personal best mark in the women's high jump on Saturday, clearing a bar height of 1.60m to finish tied for fourth in the event.
- In the men's 1500m, junior Joseph Hamilton was the first Mountain Lion across the line as he finished with a personal best converted time of 3:59.38 for a 15th place finish in the 49-person field.
BEYOND THE RESULTS
- The Mountain Lions posted outdoor record book updates in six different events on Saturday, including the men's 5,000m, men's high jump, women's pole vault, women's shot put, women's discus throw, and men's hammer throw.
UP NEXT
- The Mountain Lions will split up next weekend with the sprinters, jumpers, and throwers heading to the campus of West Texas A&M University in Canyon, Texas, for the Jo Meaker Classic and Multi on April 4-6 and the distance runners making the shorter trip north to Boulder, Colo., to compete at the Colorado Invitational on the campus of University of Colorado Boulder.
