DENVER, Colo. – The No. 16 University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's cross country team posted 189 points Saturday afternoon to finish seventh out of 24 teams at the 2024 NCAA South Central Regional Championships, hosted by Metropolitan State University of Denver at Washington Park.

AROUND THE COURSE
- For the fourth race this season, Jagger Zlotoff led the Mountain Lions with a 22nd place finish in a time of 32:16.97.
- Coming in just nine seconds behind Zlotoff and in 28th place was Enzo Knapp.
- Joseph Impellitteri was the third Mountain Lion to cross the finish, as he notched a 38th place finish in 32:55.75.
- Bringing in the Mountain Lion scorers were Brett Davis in 42nd place with a time of 33:03.75, followed by Jack Donze in 59th place (33:35.84).
RACE LEADERS
- Two weeks after winning the Rocky Mountain Atheltic Conference individual title, Romain Legendre of Adams State University bested all 169 runners on the course this afternoon with a regional championship time of 30:53.55.
- Colorado School of Mines won the team title with 40 points, followed by Adams State University (59 points) and West Texas A&M University (105 points).
BEYOND THE FINISH LINE
- Zlotoff's 22nd place finish earns him USTFCCCA All-South Central Region honors, the first all-region cross country accolade of his career.
- Koy Cunningham (62nd place, 33:42.38), Knapp, and Caden Leal (70th place, 34:04.38) all ran their first 10k today in a Mountain Lions uniform today.
UP NEXT
- The 34-team NCAA Division II field will be announced on Monday, Nov. 11. The top three teams from each regional meet will automatically advance to the championship finals (24 teams total). Ten at-large teams will be selected by the NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Cross Country Committee using the selection criteria. There is no limit to the number of at-large teams that may be selected from any given region.
