UCCS Ranked No. 10, No. 21 in USTFCCCA Week 4 Polls

NEW ORLEANS, La. – Both University of Colorado Colorado Springs cross country teams moved one spot in Week 4 of the United States Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association Division II Coaches' Poll.  The Mountain Lions women's team received 167 points and moved down one spot to No. 10, while the men's team also slid one spot to No. 21.
 
This past Saturday the UCCS women's program competed at the notable Live in Lou 5k Classic in Louisville, Ky.  In a Division I heavy field, the Mountain Lions finished seventh out of 27 teams, and second among Division II teams.  UCCS scored 186 points, besting 18 Division I teams.  Anna Fauske led UCCS in Louisville, crossing the finish line in 10th place overall, setting a new personal best 5k time in 17:02.8.  The Mountain Lions men's team did not compete last week.
 
Both No. 1 teams in each coaches' poll remain unchanged with the Wingate University men's team and Adams State University's women's team receiving all eight first-place votes for 240 points.
 
In the fourth week of the regular season South Central Rankings, the UCCS men's team stayed ranked at No. 7 while the women's program moved one spot to No. 6.
 
This Friday, Oct. 11 at Monument Valley Park, the Mountain Lions will host the UCCS XC Open in the final regular season meet.  The men's 8k race will begin at 9 a.m. followed by the women's 6k race at 9:45 a.m.
