COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's soccer team drops fourth in a row to Colorado Christian University 2-1 Thursday evening.

nd in UCCS program history, UCCS is now 18-3-1 in the series.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first half of Thursday night's match began slowly until the 13th minute when CCU defender Justine Moreau netted the Cougars' first goal of the night to the left side past a diving Alexa Malaspina of UCCS. The scoring continued 10 minutes later when CCU's Ava Dinverno converted another shot into the left side of the Mountain Lions' goal to extend the Cougars' lead.
- Despite the early deficit, the Mountain Lions battled back on offense in the 33rd minute as senior midfielder Fie Steenberg's blocked shot was rebounded by Jadyn LeDoux who sent a slow roller into the CCU goal.
- The second half was an offensive challenge for the Mountain Lions who were unable to convert any of their scoring opportunities including a header taken by freshman midfielder Casey Tadlock from a corner kick that was ultimately saved.
- The Cougars came close to increasing their lead again in the 80th minute when Malaspina saved a shot from forward Hannah Mares that was in danger of rolling in but narrowly went out of play.
- The Mountain Lions continued their aggressiveness on offense in the final 10 minutes, as LeDoux missed two shots in the 82nd and 86th minutes, respectively. UCCS made one last push in the final minute of game time when midfielder Luka Johnson attempted a shot off a corner kick that was ultimately saved.
STATS FROM THE GAME
- The Mountain Lions outshot CCU 20 to seven with seven shots on goal to the Cougars' four. UCCS led in corner kicks as well with six to CCU's 2.
- Tadlock, Steenberg, Elise Broberg, and Malia Groshong were the only UCCS position players who logged the entire 90 minutes as Malaspina did the same.
- Tadlock, Johnson, Broberg, and LeDoux were the four Mountain Lions that recorded a shot on goal in Thursday night's matchup.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- LeDoux scored her first goal of the season in the 33rd minute.
- Steenberg recorded her second assist of the season on the goal by LeDoux.
- Thursday night was the first time in 17 games that UCCS fell to CCU with the last occurring on September 9, 2009.
- UCCS starts 0-3 in RMAC play for the first time since 2009, just the third time in program history they have been winless through the first three conference matches.

- The Mountain Lions play their next game this Sunday, Oct. 6 at Mountain Lion Stadium in Colorado Springs, Colo. against Metropolitan State University of Denver. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
