COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo- The University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's soccer team ranks fifth in the national polls for the second straight week after extending their win streak to three games in week eight.

Lynn University ranks first for the sixth consecutive week with the University of Charleston ranked second again. There was a shake up in the top five as Limestone University and California State University-Los Angeles are now tied for third with UCCS right behind. Colorado State University-Pueblo moves up to 16th in the nation after securing two victories in week eight while Fort Lewis College drops six spots to 19th in the rankings due to a shutout loss to Colorado School of Mines on Thursday. UCCS, CSU-Pueblo, and Fort Lewis continue to be the only three RMAC representatives ranked in the top 25 with no other teams receiving votes.

The Mountain Lions' (12-1-2) ended week eight with a 2-0 victory against Colorado Mesa University and a 2-1 decision over Westminster University to take a three-game win streak into week nine.

UCCS is ranked third in the RMAC for another week behind CSU-Pueblo (6-1 in RMAC) with a 5-1-1 conference record as Regis University (6-0-1 in RMAC) holds onto the first spot. The Mountain Lions, along with Regis and CSU-Pueblo, were the first three teams to clinch a 2024 RMAC Men's Soccer Championship berth after going unbeaten in week eight. UCCS still leads the conference in overall winning percentage at 0.867 and is second to CSU-Pueblo in goals with 31 on the season.

Four different Mountain Lions recorded goals in week eight, including junior forward Miles Seminario who is now tied for second in the RMAC in game winning goals with three after his seventh minute score against CMU on Thursday. Nick Walker's go-ahead goal on Sunday against Westminster leaves him tied for the fourth most goals in the conference despite playing in only 11 games this season. The Mountain Lions' clean sheet on Thursday marks their sixth of the season thanks to the defense only allowing two shots on goal in the full 90 minutes of game time.

The Mountain Lions return home in week nine to take on South Dakota School of Mines on Friday Nov. 1 with kickoff scheduled for noon before their senior day match up with Regis University at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday Nov. 3.
