Jagger Zlotoff and
Brett Davis ran personal best 8k times Saturday morning to lead the No. 22 University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's cross country team to a fourth place finish behind 114 points at the 2024 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference championship meet. The Mountain Lions finished 33 points ahead of Colorado State University Pueblo on the Gene Torres Golf Course in Las Vegas, N.M.

AROUND THE COURSE
- Zlotoff was the fifth fastest runner on the course, crossing the finish line in 24:10.35, nearly 40 seconds faster than his previous fastest time.
- Davis's new PR time of 24:33.75 placed him 12th overall as he cut over a minute off his career best.
- Enzo Knapp clocked a time of 25:11.19 to post a 29th place finish and finish third for UCCS.
- Bringing in the Mountain Lions scorers were Joseph Impellitteri and Koy Cunningham who finished just four seconds within each other. Impellitteri earned a 35th place finish in 25:22.93 just ahead of Cunningham's 37th place finish in 25:26.20.
RACE LEADERS
- Romain Legendre of Adams State University claimed the individual title and the RMAC Runner of the Year honor after besting all 116 racers with a time of 23:33.78.
- Colorado School of Mines captured the team title as all five scorers finished in the top 10 of the field. The Orediggers notched 24 points, followed by Adams State (45 points) and Western Colorado university (100 points).
BEYOND THE FINISH LINE
- The fourth-place team finish marks the fourth straight year the Mountain Lions have finished in the top five of the field at the conference championship meet.
- Along with Zlotoff and Davis, Impellitterri and Cunningham also ran to personal best 8k times.
- Caden Leal and Alex Fernandez penned in new career 8k times, adding to the list of six Mountain Lions posting PR times this morning. Leal finished 46th overall in 25:51.50, as Fernandez posted a time of 26:15.94 (66th place).
UP NEXT
- The Mountain Lions return to action in two weeks for the 2024 NCAA South Central Regional championship. Metropolitan State University of Denver will host the championship at Washington Park. The men's 10k race will begin at 10 a.m.
