HOW IT HAPPENED | GAME ONE
- Leadoff batter Brad Madison swung on the second pitch of the game for a single to put the Mountain Lions on base. Two batters later, Caleb Stubbings notched his first hit of the season with a single to right field, advancing Madison to third base. Kasey Campbell loaded the bases after drawing a walk, but the Broncos turned a double play to end the inning and strand three runners.
- Cole Philip got the nod to start on the bump but two batters in, Brent Cota tripled to left field before crossing home plate for the first run of the game and a 1-0 CPP lead after one full inning.
- After both teams went three-up, three down in the second inning, Ronan Hella led off the third inning with a single up the middle. The next batter and back to the top of the order, Madison posted his second straight hit when he laced the ball down the left side, but the next three batters were sent to the dugout as Hella and Madison were unable to score.
- Cal Poly grew their lead in the bottom half of the third inning. Nin Burns II reached base on a single before stealing second. A wild pitch moved him to third base where Cedrick Perez brought him home on a single. Two batters later, a deep ball to the left field foul pole plated two more Broncos as they snagged a 4-0 lead after three innings.
- Entering the fifth inning and down 4-0, John Hoffman relieved Philip on the mound. After he put down the first batter, the next three batters reached base, but Hoffman forced the last two batters of the inning to pop out and keep the CPP lead at bay, 4-0.
- Stubbings started off the sixth inning with a hard ball to third base and quickly moved to second on a throwing error. Campbell grounded out for the first out of the inning but not before Stubbings moved to third. Facing a new pitcher for the Broncos, Luis Samorano drew a walk to put Mountain Lions on the corner bases. A pitch in the dirt moved Samorano to second base but UCCS was unable to plate any runs. Hoffman kept the Broncos hitless in the sixth inning with three straight strikeouts at the plate, two of which went down swinging.
- The seventh inning started with a Brady Lachemann driving the ball to left field to put UCCS on base, but the next three batters fouled and struck out to end the inning. In the bottom half of the inning and runners on first and second with one out, Hoffman struck out CPP swinging seconds before Evan Steinberger threw out a Bronco trying to steal third base for two quick outs to end the inning.
- Stubbings repeated his previous plate appearance to start off the eighth inning when he hit another hard ball to third base. Campbell and Samorano reached base to put Mountain Lions on each base, but CPP turned their second double play of the game for two outs with Stubbings on third. Steinberger brought home Stubbings for the Mountain Lions first score of the series when he hit a single to shallow left field, putting UCCS on the scoreboard, 1-4.
- The Broncos answered UCCS' run and added six runs on four hits that featured a home run to lead off the inning and a double that added two runs, sealing the win for the home time, 10-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED | GAME TWO
- Redshirt sophomore Will Gabriel made his first appearance in the black and gold Saturday night. Gabriel was tested early in Pomona as he faced one out and bases loaded. A UCCS error led to an eventual four-unearned run inning by the Broncos who snuck out just one hit in the process.
- A quiet second inning by both teams that registered just one base runner in seven batters with Dylan Morace reaching first base on a walk to start and end the action. With no runs scored in the second inning, CPP went to work in the third and fourth innings. A walk and a single put two runners on base in the bottom half of the third inning before a balk advanced them one base. Another single and two sacrifice flies added three more runs for the home team as they put together a 7-0 lead after three innings of action.
- Graduate student Keegan Sueltz led off the fourth inning with a single through the left side. Madison followed when he laced a single up the middle moving Sueltz to third. Richardson loaded the bases on a walk that led up to Sueltz scoring on a Macully Sehr's fielders' choice, giving UCCS their first run of the game.
- Freshman pitcher Ryder Mancuso went to the mound in the bottom of the fourth inning. The Broncos applied pressure early, notching four runs on three hits.
- UCCS battled back in the fifth inning as Aaron Brackel led off with a single up the middle. Wigington chipped in a single before Stubbings drew a walk to load the bases. CPP responded by turning a double, but not before Brackel scored and Stubbings moved to second. Madison's single to centerfield brought home Stubbings for the Mountain Lions third run of the game, but the eight-run deficit was too much for UCCS to overcome, falling to the Broncos in game three, 11-3.
