Audrey Bloomquist shatter the indoor program record for the women's triple jump.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The highlight of the second and final day of the CRC Pre-Holiday Invite & Multi came at the women's triple jump runway, where Audrey Bloomquist shattered her personal best mark in the event with an indoor school record and national qualifying leap of 12.70m. Her mark, which also placed her first overall in Saturday's competition, currently ranks second overall in the nation for the event. The Mountain Lions also had two more student-athletes record national qualifying marks in the event, with freshman Brielle Bracken posting a third-place leap of 11.90m in her first career triple jump competition and redshirt junior Christine Bailey earning a sixth-place finish with a jump of 11.71m.
- UCCS also had a pair of NCAA qualifying marks in the men's triple jump, led by redshirt senior Peyton Turnage with a third-place leap of 14.64m. Finishing just behind Turnage in fourth place was freshman Daunte Lord with an impressive mark of 14.61m in his first collegiate triple jump contest.
- At the men's high jump, redshirt senior Skye Cicarelli did not disappoint in his season debut as he cleared a provisional qualifying bar height of 2.12m to match his personal best and earn a second-place finish in the event.
- Adding another NCAA provisional qualifying mark on Saturday was redshirt junior Thorben Hast, who finished up the final three events of the men's heptathlon and went on to post a score of 4,961 points to finish seventh overall in the competition.
- Senior Melissa Moreni clocked the eighth and final NCAA qualifying mark of Saturday's action in the women's 60m hurdles final as she was the top overall finisher in the event while matching her time from yesterday's prelim at 8.64s (8.68c). The Mountain Lions also claimed three more spots inside the top-ten of the event, with freshman Krissie Sanders taking third place at 9.02s, sophomore Sydney Samuels matching her personal best with a time of 9.17s for a fourth-place finish, and Leyah Martinez finishing fifth with a personal best time of 9.21s.
- In the men's 60m hurdles final, freshman Nigel James continued to improve on his season-best time as he clocked a mark of 8.33s to finish second overall in the race. His time still ranks fifth all-time in program history for the event.
- In the women's 60m dash final, junior Victoria Farinas cruised to an event win as she crossed the line first overall with a raw time of 7.65s. On the men's side, UCCS claimed two of the top three positions in the 60m dash final, with redshirt senior Justice Mendoza taking second place with a raw time of 6.84s and sophomore Daryn Ofori-Kuragu earning third place at a personal best time of 6.87s.
- Moving to the outer track, the UCCS men's team went on to secure each of the top three spots in the 200m dash as redshirt senior Brian Mosley Jr. earned the event win at a raw time of 22.11s. Crossing the line in second place overall was junior Kymani Sterling at a time of 22.33s, while Mendoza doubled down and finished third overall with a mark of 22.37s. Redshirt junior Keyanda Bolton paced the Mountain Lions in the women's 200m dash as she clocked a time of 25.37s to finish second overall in the race.
- Saturday's action finished up with the men's and women's 4x400m relay races as the Mountain Lions managed to claim first place finishes from both sides in a limited field of competitors. On the women's side, Alyssa Lopez, Addie Wilson, Bolton, and Krissie Sanders teamed up to clock a time of 3:58.44. The top men's 4x400m relay team, which consisted of Andrew Muncy, Ashton Whisler, Ofori-Kuragu, and Ryan O'Neal, also went on to post a strong time of 3:20.89 to close the weekend's events.
BEYOND THE RESULTS
- While Bloomquist's triple jump school record was the highlight of the day, Bracken's strong mark of 11.90m was also record book worthy as she moved into fourth place all-time in program history for the event.
- Across the two-day meet, the UCCS men's and women's track & field teams combined to record 15 new or improved NCAA qualifying marks and 11 event wins.

- The Mountain Lions will now step away from the competition field for the holidays and winter break before returning to action at the Potts Invitational, which will be hosted by University of Colorado Boulder on Saturday, Jan. 13.
