HOW IT HAPPENED
- It was a slow start to begin this quarterfinal match as both teams only recorded one shot each in the first 10 minutes of play. - UCCS had a comparable second half to their first as they received more opportunities to take the lead but were unable to do so. Outshooting the Griffins six to four in the second half, the Mountain Lions got their last shot on goal of regulation in the 78th minute coming on a free kick from Anna Vince but couldn't get it to fall. The match then would head to overtime.
- After 11 minutes of extra play, Westminster scored on their only shot in overtime off a freekick to put them up 1-0. UCCS had four shots in the 20 minutes of combined overtime with their best opportunity coming in the 106th minute after a penalty kick from Jade Kinsey and a great save from Westminster keeper Mashaun Eastridge. The Griffins defense held on, resulting in a 1-0 loss for UCCS.
