No. 6 Mountain Lions Finish Fifth at RMAC Championships

DENVER, Colo. – The No. 6 nationally ranked University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's cross country team collected 124 points Saturday morning to finish fifth overall at the 2023 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference championship meet, hosted by Metropolitan State University of Denver at Washington Park Saturday morning.

AROUND THE COURSE
  • Anna Fauske ran to her second straight All-RMAC First Team performance.  The junior from Sherwood, Wis. finished fifth overall with a personal best time of 21:05.2.
  • Rachel Richtman claimed her first career all-conference accolade after finishing 21st overall to earn All-RMAC Second Team accolades.  Richtman clocked a time of 22:03.0.
  • Coming in third for the Mountain Lions and 29th overall was Nadine Almasri, posting a time of 22:29.4.
  • Bringing in the fourth and fifth scorers for the Mountain Lions were Rachel Goodrich and Molly Breuer who finished just six seconds apart.  Goodrich finished 35th overall in 22:43.5 ahead of Breuer's 39th place finish in 22:49.8.
                        
RACE LEADERS
  • Senior Briana Robles of Adams State University won the 2023 RMAC individual championship, claiming a first-place time of 20:34.1.
  • No. 2 Adams State won the RMAC Championship title with 32 points.
 
BEYOND THE FINISH LINE
  • The top four finishers for the Mountain Lions – Fauske, Richtman, Almasri and Goodrich – all clocked personal best 6k times.
  • Emma Montoya ran in her first 6k race for the Mountain Lions, notching a time of 23:54.5 to place 63rd overall.
  • Fauske and Richtman's all-conference accolades marks the 14th time in program history UCCS has had multiple all-conference performers.
 
UP NEXT
  • UCCS will gear up to compete again on Nov. 4 at the NCAA South Central Regional in Lubbock, Texas.
