DENVER, Colo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's cross country team, ranked No. 23 in the latest USTFCCCA national rankings, finished fifth out of 15 teams Saturday afternoon at the 2023 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championships. Metropolitan State University of Denver hosted the 8k championship race at Washington Park.

AROUND THE COURSE
- Sophomore Jagger Zlotoff paced all nine Mountain Lions on the 8k course with a personal best 8k time of 24:48.0. His 13th place finish earned him All-RMAC First Team accolades.
- Gavin Harden recorded a 27th place finish in 25:12.5 to notch his first career all-conference award. Harden's finish earned him All-RMAC Second Team recognition.
- Logan Cole clocked a personal best 8k time of 25:21.7 to finish four spots behind Harden in 31st place.
- Brett Davis and Michael Burke Jr., both running in their first conference championship race, brought in the fourth and fifth scorers for UCCS. Davis' time of 25:39.8 earned him 41st place with Burke right behind him in 44th place with a time of 25:42.8.
RACE LEADERS
- Behind four of the top 10 runners to cross the finish line, Colorado School of Mines won the conference championship title with 32 points.
- Andrew Amor of New Mexico Highlands University bested all 121 runners with a first-place time of 23:58.4
BEYOND THE FINISH LINE
- Zlotoff, Cole, Davis, Burke Jr. and Joseph Impellitteri each recorded personal best 8k times today.
- Harden ran in his fourth career conference championship race.
- Along with Davis and Burke Jr., Tim Chambers, Impellitteri and Caden Leal also ran in their first ever conference championship meet.

- The Mountain Lions will head to Lubbock, Texas on Saturday, Nov. 4 for the 2023 NCAA South Central Regional Championship.
