COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference announced the 2023-24 Preseason Coaches' Poll Wednesday afternoon with the University of Colorado Colorado Springs Mountain Lions receiving 75 points and voted ninth overall.

The defending regular season and tournament champions, Regis University, is the preseason favorite to win the RMAC title again this season.  The Rangers collected 192 points and 12 first-place votes to lead the 15-team poll.

The RMAC Preseason Women's Basketball Poll is voted on by the league's 15 head coaches. Coaches are not permitted to vote for their own team.

The Mountain Lions will have a new look under new leadership this season.  Misty Wilson enters her first year on the sidelines with UCCS after spending the past nine seasons as the head women's basketball coach at Tarleton State University.

Returning from last year's squad that went 10-18 overall and finished ninth in the league with a 9-13 record are Amyah Moore Allen, Alexa Dominguez, Emily Doolittle, Jessica Nation, Sydney Nilles, Breelyn Robinson, Rylie Ottmann, and All-RMAC Second Team performer Maison White.  Along with a new coaching staff featuring Wilson and assistant coaches Nic Cantrell, Lindsey Mann and Casey Doronkina, UCCS welcomes eight new Mountain Lions to the program. Entering their first year competing at the collegiate level are Carrah Davis, Marissa Kalamaris and Mya Wilson, with five transfers coming to UCCS – Mattie Busby, Krystina Hagood, Briana Knabe, Desiree Smith and Emily Vidal.

The Mountain Lions will tip off their season with two road games on Nov. 10-11.  UCCS will face Midwestern State University on Friday, Nov. 10 at 4:30 p.m. (MT), and Cameron University the following day 4:30 p.m. (MT).
